The Queensland Solar Bonus Scheme, which involves a government-mandated solar feed-in tariff, pays eligible customers for the electricity generated from eligible solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and exported to the Queensland electricity grid.
The mandated scheme is open to Queensland households and businesses located in regional areas (the Ergon Energy network or the Essential Energy network). There is no mandated rate for customers in South East Queensland. Instead, these customers must approach their electricity retailer to obtain a market feed-in tariff rate.
This guide provides information about how the mandated and market feed-in tariffs operate in Queensland.
